When the Circus came to town

There is a small circus in Browning today. They used the highschool here in town. This morning they had workshops for the kids. Isabelle and Caleb really enjoyed the mask making workshop. Isabelle spent about 30 minutes making two different masks. Caleb mostly just liked playing with all of the supplies.
After awhile Caleb fell asleep, and managed to sleep through alot of noise.
Ian really enjoyed a workshop called "Making Musical Instruments." There were a few different things they could choose from, and he chose to make a guitar. The guy working with him was very patient, and worked great with kids.
Here is Ian in his mask, playing his guitar. (Unlike Isabelle, he made his mask in about 2 minutes!)
Ian and Isabelle also went to a workshop on juggling, but it was a little beyond their ability. They had a good time trying though! Tonight we are going back for the circus performance at 7pm.

The Whole Crew

This is our neighborhood group of kids. This picture was from last Monday when we all walked to the post office. They are a great group of kids, and we enjoy having them over. The oldest two have also babysat for our kids while I have had dentist appointments. (Three so far this summer. I have a temporary crown now, and get a permantent crown in August. I am thinking about asking if I can get a gold one with my initials for my front tooth.)

Our Thursday Picnic

Since Tuesday worked so well, I decided to go to Two Medicine Lake again on Thursday. Caleb and Isabelle had dr. appt's in the morning. By the time we packed up and left for the picnic, it was about 11:00. It was still hot in Browning, and I expected the weather to be the same in the park as on Tuesday. But it was chilly, about 65.
Fortunately, we keep jackets in the car, so we were prepared. Lately, the jackets seem like overkill, but you never know around here when you will need one.
We didn't stay as long on Thursday, but everyone enjoyed being at the park for awhile. The picture below is a brave chipmunk, who kept creeping closer and closer.

A Picnic at Two Medicine Lake

On Tuesday, we went for a picnic to Two Medicine Lake. It has been unusually hot here (high's in the mid 90's or more.) It was the perfect weather by the lake, with the breeze. The kids had fun splashing in the water and playing in the trees. Poor Stephen had to work and missed all of the fun.

This was the "secret hideout" that Ian and Isabelle found. They had a bedroom, a livingroom, and a front porch.

North American Indian Days in Browning

On Sunday evening, we went to the part of North American Indian days. The pictures really do not do it justice. The kids got bored, so we didn't stay for long.

Isabelle's birthday

For Isabelle's birthday, we had a picnic in the park with some other families from church. I didn't tell them it was her birthday, so that we could keep things low key. She had a great time, and kept reminding us all day to refer to her as the birthday girl. She also told everyone that she was four, but tomorrow she would be five.

Dora Diego

For Isabelle's birthday, she really wanted a fish. We went to Kalispell on Saturday, and she picked out a male betta fish. Of course, he had to be named Dora, but Ian talked her into adding the Diego. He was really bothered that a boy fish was named Dora. He has survived his first few days, and hopefully will live a long and happy life as the newest member or the family.

This is what our car looked like after Costco. The funny thing is that we didn't buy as much as we sometimes do. When we have more, things are really packed in, and we can get creative-- under the seats, under the kids feet, etc. I'm always tired after a day like this, but the good thing is we won't have to do it again for another month or more.

We're still here

A church group from Open Door Baptist Church in VA is in town doing some children's activities. Ian and Isabelle made foam visors. Caleb just sat and watched the horses that were wandering around on their own.

It has been hot here, up to the 90's some days. Thankfully, our airconditioner is working. I have tons of pictures from our 4th of July in Havre that I will post eventually. Some of them are on Stephen's laptop, which is not working right now. We are going to take it in to Best Buy on Sat and hopefully get it fixed there.

More of Aster Falls

Caleb was able to entertain himself by throwing rocks.

Summer took the 3 oldest kids up to a higher spot on the waterfall.
